Stewards Comments: SILPAK and NEWTOWN MAGIC were slow into stride. Approaching the 1250m HUTZPAH shifted inwards crowding PEBBLES, which was restrained and bumped ZERMATT. ZERMATT shifted outwards near the 800m crowding MR. ATOMIC which then had to be restrained away from the heels of FOX IN THE MORNING throwing its head in the air. LANDING STAR was held tight behind HUTZPAH and inside PEBBLES between the 450m and the 200m and as such, was unable to obtain a clear run. SILPAK rolled inwards near the 275m bumping ZERMATT in onto MR. ATOMIC. LANDING STAR lay outwards under pressure over the final 100m. A veterinary inspection of the poorly performed GREY SABU (J.Claite) revealed the gelding to be making respiratory noises. Trainer advised that GREY SABU would now be sent for a spell.
