Stewards Comments: On jumping EXBURY FAIR veered outwards. DURHAM GIRL commenced awkwardly. BALEEN LASS was slow to begin. At the start SASSY BELLE threw its head with Jockey P. Dyson becoming unbalanced and losing the use of his off side iron for approximately 50m. At the 400m WILD STORM shifted outwards bumping with SASSY BELLE. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of MY TRUE CHOICE , Trainer Mr C. Scoby-Smith explained that the mare had always shown above average ability, however at recent starts it had been disappointing. At its last start over 1200m at Bunbury on 3 February, 2002, MY TRUE CHOICE had hung out badly throughout and had performed poorly. He further explained that the mare had shown some hormonal symptoms and in his opinion this had been a contributing factor. It was established that the connections had only a token bet on MY TRUE CHOICE today.
