Stewards Comments:
RARE SPICE when questioned regarding the unplaced performance of the gelding, Trainer advised that he had lightened the gelding's work since being withdrawn from the previous Narrogin meeting after a bout of colic. Subsequently the gelding had not raced for a period of three weeks and in his opinion would be greatly improved on today's performance. He further advised that it was his intention not to start the gelding for a period of two weeks until the next Albany meeting on 17 January 2004. A post race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. WAR PAK bumped at start. Passing 1150m bumped. Lay in from 200m. Returned with minor abrasions, to spell. CENTURIAN MISS near 1000m steadied off heels. MISS SPEEDPAK bumped at start. Passing 1150m bumped. Near 500m restrained losing ground. HARLS slow into stride.
