Stewards Comments: PRECISELY slow to begin. When questioned on the performance rider explained that after missing the start she had to ride the gelding along strenuously to make ground on the field. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. SMART BAZZA lay outwards passing 600m, bumped on several occasions on straightening. MAGIC FLYER withdrawn by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice, when the riderless gelding broke through the barriers and after cantering a considerable distance was recaptured and was declared unfit to take its place in the field. SMOKE BUSH saddle shifted forward shortly after start placing rider at disadvantage before righting itself near 800m, bumped on several occasions on straightening. LATE REPORT: Trainer reported that on return to the stabel PRECISELY had recovered well and it was now her intention to consider placing blinkers on the gelding for future starts.
