Stewards Comments:
HARTLEYS DREAM raced ungenerously in the early stages getting its head in the air passing the 1200m. Raced wide from the 800m. Returned with a minor laceration to the off hind heel. BEAT THE STORM following the disappointing performance, rider explained that the gelding settled well but failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. CHARLIE BEAU raced wide and got its head in the air in the early stages until being allowed to stride forward from the 1000m. SIR CHALMERS was impeded for a run between the 250m and the 150m.
