Stewards Comments

RAPID RANCHER began awkwardly and was slow into stride. GREY CHILLY SMILE lay outwards for a major part of the journey and returned with a cut to the inside of its mouth. FAVOURITE FORTUNE was impeded for a clear run passing the 300m for some distance. Jockey J. Whiting was questioned as to his handling of KINANDRA over the final 400m. He stated that his instructions were to have the mare held up and attempt one final run in the straight. Passing the 350m he was impeded for a run and eventually had to go to the outside. These instructions were confirmed by Trainer Mr S. Bates.
