Stewards Comments

RED RIVER LADY jumped out at the start bumping GYPSY DEL. ACE AT SEA raced wide in the early and middle stages. MIGHTY SIGNOR raced wide throughout. IRISH JACK raced wide from the 600m. Near the 350m FAYJEN GIRL steadied to avoid the heels of the tiring PRIME MOVER. Trainer and Apprentice were questioned regarding the disappointing performance of IRISH JACK. Apprentice stated that the gelding did not feel comfortable in running and it had failed to respond to his vigorous riding over the concluding stages. Trainer stated that IRISH JACK was dropping back from 1500m at its previous start. However he had expected a better performance than it had produced today. Further IRISH JACK has a history of tying up in racing. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer reported that IRISH JACK was found to be tying up on return to the stable and he would have blood tests taken and report the findings to the Stewards.
