Stewards Comments

TENACIOUS KINGDOM dwelt at the start losing ground. COLORADO RIVER jumped awkwardly. Shortly after the start LADY LACEMAKER began to pull hard and near the 1100m, was steadied, then clipped the heels of COLORADO RIVER and lost ground. At the turn into the straight COLORADO RIVER lay inwards. A Veterinary inspection of TENACIOUS KINGDOM revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor laceration above its off hock. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of TENACIOUS KINGDOM, Trainer Mr. D. Pugh stated that after being slow out of the barriers, the gelding had to work hard to obtain its position in the field and on entering the straight, had failed to run on. Mr. Pugh added that TENACIOUS KINGDOM was substantially supported today.
