Stewards Comments

DOUBLE JEWEL was slow into stride. BLINDED commenced awkwardly and then raced keenly in the early stages having to be steadied from the heels of LAKESIDE SONG near the 900m. COMET REEF pulled hard in the early and middle stages. KRUZ raced wide in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600m DOUBLE JEWEL shifted out bumping BLINDED. Passing the 600m BRIGHT REVUE shifted out slightly bumping LAKESIDE SONG which bumped the hindquarters of COMET REEF. At the 600m KRUZ shifted in tightening MODEM causing that gelding to be steadied from the heels of LASEVA. Near the 500m BLINDED steadied from the heels of LAKESIDE SONG. NIKITA BLUE raced wide on straightening. At the turn into the straight LAKESIDE SONG and COMET REEF bumed. Approaching the 200m BRIGHT REVUE and DOUBLE JEWEL bumped. Shortly after this Jockey (BRIGHT REVUE) dropped his whip. At the 175m DOUBLE JEWEL was blocked and taken outwards to avoid the heels of the tiring KRUZ and bumped BLINDED on several occasions. URASTAT lay inwards in the straight. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KURZ Jockey stated that in his opinion KRUZ was not suited by racing twice within a week.
