Stewards Comments

TRICK A TREAT threw its head in the air on jumping losing ground and then raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, throwing its head in the air on several occasions passing the 1200m. Approaching the 1200m TOROLOSA shifted outwards away from MARSCARA causing STOLEN HALO to blunder from that mare's heels. OSIRIA raced keenly when leading in the early and middle stages. STOLEN HALO was held up for a clear run from the 450m until near the 225m. When questioned regarding the reason for STOLEN HALO being ridden in a rearward position, Apprentice stated that he was instructed to allow the filly to settle off the pace in the early stages, however after receiving interference near the 1200m STOLEN HALO had got back further in the field than anticipated. He further stated that STOLEN HALO was not suited by the slow pace in the early and middle stages and was left flatfooted when the field sprinted from the 600m. He also advised that STOLEN HALO was held up from the 800m and due to this, he was unable to improve STOLEN HALO's position. TOROLOSA cast its off fore plate during running. Trainer confirmed these instructions and agreed with Apprentice that STOLEN HALO was not suited by the manner in which this race was run. Jockeys were all reminded of their obligation to ensure that they attempt to increase the pace when in a position to do so.
