DAI LO BAN was slow into stride. Racing from the 1200m RICKY O'SHEA steadied when POLISH PLEASURE lay inwards. Approaching the 600m DAI LO BAN and OUR SELECTION bumped on several occasions and at the 400m both horses again bumped. Approaching the 500m BLEVVO when attempting to shift outwards raced tightly with POLISH PLEASURE for a short distance. At the turn into the straight BAYWOOD commenced to lay outwards and over the concluding 200m shifted outwards under pressure. When questioned regarding the riding of BAYWOOD Jockey explained that he had been instructed to settle the gelding mid-field. However, shortly after the start when he was attempting to settle BAYWOOD the pace slackened and BAYWOOD commenced to race fiercely and pulled its way to the lead. Under these circumstances he then elected to let the gelding stride. He further added that passing the 600m BAYWOOD had commenced to lay outwards. Trainer advised he would not race BAYWOOD for a period of two weeks and that the gelding, if possible, would be ridden back in the field. A veterinary inspection of BAYWOOD revealed that the gelding returned with an elevated heart rate and was slow to recover. LIKE A HORNET returned with its tongue over the bit. Trainer advised that he would now race the gelding in a tongue-tie.
