Stewards Comments

CHICAGO NIGHT was slow into stride. STOP STRESSING pulled hard in the early stages. RAZOO PORT pulled hard in the early stages. PORT JULIUS and RAZOO PORT brushed on several occasions near the 250m. The rider of KEY START, Apprentice was questioned as to his reasons for failing to go forward and lead in the early stages, as he had done at his previous start. Apprentice stated that Trainer had advised him to endeavour to race off the pace today, and not lead. These instructions were confirmed by Trainer. Trainer stated that at its previous start, the gelding had over-raced and he was of the opinion that KEY START would be better suited racing off the pace. Trainer was reminded of his obligations that in future when he changes his riding instructions, he must advise the Stewards prior to the race.
