Stewards Comments

SILVER SIM over raced in the early and middle stages. CZARIFFIC was held up from the 550m and near the 400mhad to steady and was further held up until passing the 300m. Passing the 275m OVER QUALIFIED was held up and taken outwards to obtain a clear run. EBONYVALE was momentarily blocked for a clear run near the 250m. When questioned regarding his riding tactics on CZARRIFIC, Jockey advised that the gelding had got further back in the field than he had anticipatedand he was unable to ontain a clear run until passing the 300m. Trainer advisedthat CZARIFFIC had been disappointing when racing in a more forward position at its last start at Ascot on 13 April, 2002 and he had instructed Jockey to settle CZARIFFIC midfield and further stated that it was his intention to have the gelding ridden closer when possible in the future
