Stewards Comments

BLEVVO slow into stride. Apprentice was questioned regarding his riding of the gelding and stated that he was instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position and allow it to stride forward from the 800m, as it is best suited when ridden in this manner. Apprentice explained that the gelding did not commence well and was then forced to race wide in the early stages in order to race outside the leader. He further stated that the gelding had settled well when racing on the outside of the leader from the 1200m and he was therefore content to remain in this position. Trainer confirmed these instructions as he felt the gelding would need to be ridden along from the 800m as the gelding would find it difficult to sprint with the field considering its weight impost. DESERT DREAMER buffeted at start. Raced keenly blundered from heels at 1400m. Raced wide from 1000m.
