Stewards Comments

SKY ROMA slow into stride. BLACK MARTINI lay outwards at 800m. Apprentice was questioned regarding his riding of the gelding in the early and middle stages, in particular the reasons for him riding forward between 1000m until the 500m pressuring another runner, which was leading. Apprentice advised that he had attempted to obtain the lead from another runner, which had lead easily in the early stages and he was then forced to apply pressure to that gelding in an effort to lead. Trainer confirmed these instructions and advised that in his opinion the gelding performed best in the past when leading and was quite clear in these instructions to Apprentice.
