Stewards Comments

GUNTHER when questioned regarding the riding tactics, rider stated that she had been instructed to take up a forward position which is consistent with the geldings usual racing pattern, however approaching 800m when racing outside of the leader, the gelding refused to settle and despite her efforts over raced through the middle stages resulting in the gelding compounding in the straight and finishing at the rear of the field. Trainer confirmed these instructions and after viewing the film agreed that the gelding had over raced in the middle stages. PRECIOUS RESOURCE slow to begin. THE TRUTH HURTS when questioned regarding the riding tactics, rider stated that after beginning well and taking the lead in the early stages, despite his efforts he was unable to restrain his mount which continued to overrace throughout the middle stages and as a result compounded in the straight and finished last in the event.
