Stewards Comments

HOTEL CASUARINA lay inwards over the final 200m. POLISH REIGN slow into stride. Held up on straightening. Steadied outwards passing the 250m. THIS'LL BE THE DAY raced wide throughout and lay inwards passing the 300m. ZAKARAK dwelt at the start and lost ground. ASHENDEN knuckled on jumping. STRINGMASTER lay outwards on straightening. A post race Veterinary examination of the gelding which tired significantly over the final 300m, revealed no abnormalities. Rider advised that he was instructed to position the gelding in a mid-field position, however, it had commenced very well and raced keenly and he therefore allowed it to stride forward. Trainer advised that the gelding was not suited by racing on the pace as its best performances have been when able to settle back in the field in the early and middle stages. It was now his intention to have the gelding ridden further back in the field for future starts. Further, that the gelding would not be started in a race for a period of three weeks.
