Stewards Comments

POWER PATROL pulled hard in the early and middle stages with the rider reporting that the saddle shifted forward slightly before correcting itself on straightening. MAXIMUS MUNIUS held tight passing the 500m and held up approaching the turn into the straight. SIESTA BAY lay outwards considerably over the final 150m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore. Trainer was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness before racing or trialling again. DOMERO raced keenly in the early stages. HIGGINS GOLD overraced in the middle stages. OUR SOLID BOND lay outwards throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised that the gelding may not have been suited by racing in consecutive weeks and that he would monitor its recovery and advise Stewards of his immediate intentions. Trainer has since reported that the gelding had recovered well and it was now his intention to freshen it and that it would race over the Kalgoorlie round. RUSSIAN BARON raced wide throughout. STAR OF VAIN stood flat footed at the start, losing several lengths. Trainer was advised to take steps to rectify the gelding's barrier manner. Steadied from heels for several strides near the 700m.
