IMPERIAL THEATRE when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider stated that the gelding did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and was under pressure at the 800m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, but indicated that the gelding had pulled up "big" in condition. Trainer's representative could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance but undertook to advise of any condition which may come to light in the ensuing days. ALEE'S TAXI bumped at the start. PRIVATE PETE jumped awkwardly and bumped. JOLLY JINKS over-raced leaving the 1100m and steadied at the 1000m.
