Stewards Comments

GUYNO bumped heavily at the start. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider stated that the gelding had experienced a trouble free run and he had commenced to make a forward move at the 600m, however passing the 400m the gelding was labouring, had a tendency to lay inwards slightly in the straight and raced in a flat manner. Trainer also expressed disappointment as he had expected the gelding to perform extremely well. He did state that the gelding was immature and in his opinion would benefit from this first race preparation. Trainer advised that he would monitor the recovery of the gelding and advise Stewards accordingly, however the gelding would now be sent for a spell. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer later advised that blood tests taken from the gelding revealed no abnormalities and the gelding was found to have mild heel pain in both fore feet. Confirmation was given that the gelding would now be sent for a spell. MONDAINE commenced awkwardly throwing its head and bumped shortly after. Raced wide throughout.
