Stewards Comments

GAGE ROAD raced very wide throughout. DANTE'S VOLONTE raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and consequently had to be restrained from heels between the 850m and 600m. Bumped near the 800m. Trainer was advised to take steps to rectify the gelding's racing manner. Trainer advised that the gelding would now be spelled. KEPT SECRET raced wide throughout and bumped near 800 and again shortly after. Steadied near the 350m. When questioned regarding disappointing performance rider explained that the gelding had received some bumping early in the race, causing it to become unsettled. He added that the gelding was obliged to work hard due to having to race wide throughout. Trainer expressed disappointment with the gelding's performance and advised that it was his intention to race it over an increased distance at its next start. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. REALLY ROUGH slow to begin. SHUTTLETIME commenced awkwardly. FLEETING WINGS raced wide in the early and middle stages.
