Stewards Comments

HE FOR HIDEY a post race Veterinary examination of the gelding which led and tired considerably over the final 250m revealed no abnormalities.When questioned its rider advised that the gelding had to work hard in the early stages of the race to attain the lead, however when ridden along in the straight it failed to respond and was disappointing.Trainer was of the view that as the gelding had to work in the early stages, this had contributed to its performance.He further stated that today's race was a rise in class from its previous start at Albany on 26 January 2006 over 2000m.He further advised that it was now his intention to start it over a lesser distance at its next start.
