Stewards Comments

BLACK DOUGLAS when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider advised that the gelding was under pressure before straightening and failed to respond to his riding from there on and in his opinion was nearing the end of its current preparation. Trainer later advised that the gelding had recovered well and he would now race the gelding in the Provincial area at its next start. NIKE HEIR bounded on jumping and lost ground. Steadied near the 1200m. ZHAMENKA raced wide from the 600m. Became unbalanced when struck with the whip near the 50m. BEAUCRETON raced fiercely in the early stages getting its head in the air on several occasions. CARBINEER carried outwards at the 800m and raced wide from thereon. DR DE LAGO threw its head passing the 1200m. Held up on straightening. ITS THE TRUTH steadied and shifted outwards near the 1200m. LOVES TO CRUISE impeded on straightening. SURPRISE ME NOW raced wide from the 500m. TRUSTADANE raced ungenerously and was steadied approaching the 1200m. VIXEN MINX pulled hard in the early stages. PIEDMONT inconvenienced near the 1200m. A post race Veterinary examination of the gelding which performed poorly revealed no abnormalities. Trainer was advised that the gelding would have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again.
