Stewards Comments

HENRY HALF CROWN slow into stride. When questioned regarding the performance, rider advised that after being slow into stride the gelding failed to respond when ridden along in the early stages and expressed disappointment with the performance. Trainer stated that the gelding had been working well prior to today's race and he was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance, other than to advise that it had sweated up when being floated to the racecourse and prior to the race which may have contributed to its poor performance. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer was advised that the gelding would not be permitted to start in a race for a period of three weeks. ASSAYER jumped awkwardly and bumped. BRONZE SCULPTURE jumped awkwardly. SILVER SUNRISE raced wide on straightening. CHEEKY BUSINESS lay inwards in the straight.
