Stewards Comments

AVERROES when questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider advised that the gelding had a trouble free run throughout but had commenced to tire passing the 500m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer reported to the Stewards later in the day that the gelding had undergone an endoscopic examination which revealed signs of respiratory distress. Trainer was advised that the gelding will not be permitted to start in a race a period of 3 weeks. Trainer further advised that consideration would for be given to sending the gelding for a spell and he would notify the stewards accordingly. ESTIARTE slow into stride. Over the concluding stages lay outwards over the concluding stages necessitating rider to steady his mount to avoid the heels of another runner.
