Stewards Comments

MARYS MIRACLE jumped extremely awkwardly and bumped heavily at the start. WESTERN STANDARD slow into stride. Bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly getting its head in the air passing the 800m. Raced wide from the 400m. Lay outwards passing the 300m. Lay inwards when tested with the whip between the 200m and 100m. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that in his opinion after losing ground at the start the gelding did not appreciate being urged along in the early stages and as a result commenced to race keenly. Trainer agreed with these comments and advised that the gelding had previously raced keenly and pulled hard at a previous start and as a result was disappointing in not finishing the race off. He undertook to monitor the gelding's recovery and report anything which comes to light in the ensuring days which may explain the disappointing performance. He further advised that the gelding would not race for a period of at least 2 weeks. TARA ROSE following the disappointing performance Trainer advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell. Trainer was advised that the filly would have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again.
