Stewards Comments

GOLDTOWN raced keenly in the early stages. WOOL ZONE raced wide from the 1400m. SHARE TRADER when questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that as the gelding had raced keenly in the early stages, it had settled in a three-deep position and whilst it had travelled comfortably in running, did not finish the race off as anticipated. Trainer was of the opinion that the gelding did not appreciate racing wide throughout and in conjunction with not settling in the early and middle stages, that had impacted on its performance. If the gelding recovers well from today's event, it is the trainers intention to race it again this coming Saturday, 12 July 2008 in the 3YO Belmont Classic (2200m), an event in which the gelding will be racing back in its own age group. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. BATAVIA BOUNTY improved onto heels and steadied approaching the 500m. LOTTABIZ raced wide throughout. SPANCIL HILL a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Following the unplaced performance Trainer advised that the gelding would not be continuing its current preparation in his stable. SPICE TRADE impeded on straightening and taken outwards to obtain clear running.
