Raced greenly in the early and middle stages and rider advised that the gelding had changed stride on a number of occasions throughout running. Held up for clear running near the 250m. When questioned regarding his riding over the final 150m, rider stated that after taking his mount outwards to obtain clear running near the 200m he had used his whip on two occasions however the gelding failed to respond and he then rode it in a hands and heels manner from thereon. Stewards accepted his explanation however he was told to demonstrate a greater level of vigour when riding his mounts out over the final stages in future. DUKE OF CHANDOS slow into stride. MELTDOWN impeded at the 100m and then angled outwards. SOLAR ICE threw its head on jumping. Raced wide from the 500m. VERSION lay outwards from the 600m. KEY MISS raced keenly in the middle stages.
