Stewards Comments

HIGH EXPOSURE when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider advised that the gelding lay inwards in the straight and felt uncomfortable in its action. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of lameness in the off fore and to have a slower than normal recovery rate. Trainer's representative advised that consideration would be given to sending the gelding for a spell and would notify Stewards accordingly. Trainer later advised that the gelding would be sent for a spell. LATE CHANGE over-raced in the early stages. GILES raced wide throughout. ROBIN THE GREAT raced wide throughout. WESTERN STANDARD held tight and brushed the running rail becoming unbalanced passing the 500m. Held up in the early part of the straight and baulked from another runner and shifted ground quickly near the 125m, becoming unbalanced. TRANSCRIBE lay outwards on straightening.
