Stewards Comments

FACE OF MERCY dwelt at the start. STATE KAMA raced ungenerously with its head in the air in the early and middle stages. GUEST WING raced wide throughout. Rider informed Stewards that the gelding whinnied throughout the race and for this reason he elected not to ride it out fully in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. examination of the gelding revealed nothing amiss and it was now his intention to have it trial prior to racing again. AMBERSTROEM lay inwards passing the 400m. QUEST FOR MAK raced greenly in the early stages. SAIL MAKER held up for clear running from the 500m until passing the 300m. When questioned regarding the performance, rider advised that he was unable to improve his position in the middle stages and consequently got further back in the field than anticipated and after getting clear near the 300m was able to make up ground in the straight. TENNESSY pulled hard in the early and middle stages. YOAKAM tightened and steadied at the 400m. LAWLEY slow into stride. Held up prior to straightening and was steadied from heels at the 100m and taken outwards to obtain clear running. DANE RACER raced wide throughout.
