Stewards Comments

WESTERN TIDE bumped at the start. Held up on straightening and steadied approaching 200m and taken outwards. When questioned, rider advised that he considered improving to the inside of another runner approaching the 200m however that horse shifted inwards slightly and as he expected this movement to continue he elected to steady and take the gelding outwards to obtain clear running. After reviewing the various replays available, rider agreed with the Stewards in that he had erred in steadying his mount and taking it outwards across heels when a run was available to the inside of that horse approaching the 200m. Stewards were satisfied that such error was not actionable in terms of the rules and no further action was taken. BATTLE HYMN bumped at the start. Returned with minor lacerations to the near fore. ARCTIC BLOW slow into stride. CLOUDED IMAGE bumped at the start and raced wide throughout. FLIPPEN FANTASTIC crowded and bumped on jumping. Steadied when crowded approaching the 300m. LIQUID AMBER commenced very awkwardly and veered inwards. MELO raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider advised stated that the gelding failed to settle throughout running and consequently tired in the straight. PRICELESS QUEST bumped at the start. Raced wide from the 600m. ELLE CHOISIT proved difficult to load and kicked out with its hind legs causing a delay to the start of the race. Due to the filly's barrier manner, Trainer was advised that the filly would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. ROYAL EAGLE bumped at the start.
