Stewards Comments

CENTRUM slow into stride. Raced keenly in the early stages. Taken outwards and raced wide on straightening. When questioned rider advised that he had expected the gelding to race in a prominent position, however it did not commence as well as anticipated and consequently raced in a midfield position. DIAMOND HIGHWAY a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. DARNTIME returned having cast its near fore bar shoe. AFGHANI steadied from heels near the 800m and then raced ungenerously and lay inwards and was restrained from heels shortly after. Lay inwards passing the 100m and was impeded for clear running over the concluding stages. SILENT HERO lay inwards passing the 200m. MAGIC EIGHT slow to begin. VALIANCE raced wide throughout and lay outwards on straightening. When questioned rider advised that the gelding had a tendency to shift away from other runners rounding the home turn.
