Stewards Comments

WHALAH Raced wide throughout. GET THE NET When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that in his opinion the gelding had resented carrying a noseband and as a result had raced ungenerously and failed to settle through the middle stages and then compounded in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer agreed with the rider comments and advised that it has his intention to remove the noseband and blinkers from the gelding and furthermore it would not race for a period of at least two weeks. SPEECH ROOM Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide from the 600m. JACKAROO Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. ORATION Crowded on jumping and lost ground. RAPID RIDDLE Bumped at the start. TOMMY'S CHOICE Crowded and bumped shortly after the start. PUMPHOUSE PETE Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. DEFENDANT Commenced awkwardly and over-raced in the early stages. PAROLEE When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that the mare had travelled well in running and was under pressure leaving the 600m and failed to finish the race off as anticipated. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have returned with an elevated heart rate. Trainer undertook not to race the mare for a period of at least two weeks.
