Stewards Comments

SIGNIFICANT Bumped and shifted outwards shortly after the start and restrained. BERMAISE Crowded shortly after the start. LIKE A VAIN Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly losing ground. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with blood in its mouth from a tongue laceration. Trainer later advised that the gelding had recovered well following the race and in his opinion being fractious in the barriers had been detrimental to its performance. KESHAAR Raced wide from the 600m. BROOKESMEBABY Slow into stride. AWAY YE GO Shifted outwards shortly after the start. COBBLE LANE Veered inwards sharply shortly after the start and then raced ungenerously until able to attain the lead near the 1200m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised that he would experiment with gear changes in an attempt to rectify the gelding's starting manner. Trainer was advised that the gelding would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. KENBON Held up for clear running in the straight until taken outwards near the 250m. PIN ROUGE Became unsettled after being placed in its barrier dislodging its rider and after being removed and undergoing a Veterinary examination the gelding was passed fit to start. Rider was examined by St John's Ambulance Officers behind the barrier and declared fit to fulfil his riding engagement. Bumped and unbalanced shortly after the start.
