Stewards Comments

GLEN ERIN LAD Got its head in air near the 1400m when racing keenly. Raced wide throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate. When questioned regarding the poor performance, rider explained that the gelding had pulled very hard in the preliminary en route to the barriers and after over-racing and being obliged to race wide throughout had consequently tired from the 600m. Trainer undertook to monitor the gelding's recovery and advise Stewards accordingly. MODERN ART Lay outwards over the final 100m. HIGHEST HONOUR Stood flat footed at the start losing considerable ground. Trainer was advised to take steps to rectify the mare's starting manners. PAMPANITO JACK Rider advised that the gelding lay inwards throughout running and consequently had to straighten it on several occasions in the straight. DANISH CONQUERER Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 500m. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, Trainer advised that the gelding had appreciated the increase in distance of today's race and softer track surface as it had won in similar conditions previously.
