Stewards Comments

MASCHINO Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and was slow to begin. Raced wide from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance, rider explained he allowed the gelding to stride forward from the 600m to improve its position from the rear of the field and it therefore raced wide and had only finished the race off in a moderate manner. Trainer was of the opinion that the horse's performance had been adversely affected due to it having to work hard when racing wide without cover from the 600m as it is better suited when able to be ridden more patiently and utilise its late finishing sprint. He further advised that the horse would now be sent for a spell. LOVABRUCHILL Veered outwards at the start. NEIGE Carried outwards near the 600m. AMHERST Steadied when improving onto heels near the 1300m. LUNAR IMAGE Taken inwards to obtain clear running leaving the 300m. ATHENA'S ME MUM Inconvenienced outwards at the start. Held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 200m. ON THE WARPATH Carried outwards at the start.
