Stewards Comments

CARNIOLAN Bumped heavily at the start. Raced wide from the 1000m. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that although the gelding was obliged to race wide from the 1000m it was under pressure on straightening and failed to finish the race off as anticipated and furthermore in his opinion it may not have appreciated racing twice in a week. Trainer agreed with this assessment and advised that the gelding would not start for a period of at least three weeks. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. WICKED GAME Raced wide on straightening. ROHAN Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight. CARSON CITY Commenced to over-race leaving the 1400m and as a result was restrained after improving onto heels near the 1300m and continued to over-race through the middle stages and also had a tendency to lay outwards in running. Trainer sought and was granted permission to remove the blinkers from the gelding in an attempt to improve its racing manner. JACKO THE FLIRT Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Returned with a minor laceration to the near fore. WAKAHA KID Raced greenly under pressure in the straight. DOUBT YOU CATCH ME Steadied when racing keenly near the 1400m. Returned having cast its off fore and near hind plates during running. DUE PROCESS Slow into stride.
