Stewards Comments

MANTANGO Rider advised that after gaining a favourable run throughout the gelding had failed to run on in the straight and was disappointing. Trainer advised that he monitor the gelding's recovery and advise Stewards accordingly. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. SUNSILKIN Jumped awkwardly and was tightened shortly after the start and lost ground. Rider advised that due to the mare being tightened for racing room at the start this had resulted in it racing further back in the field than anticipated. In the straight he had elected to take a run to the outside of another runner near the 250m, however it shifted outwards at this point resulting in him being steadied and held up until passing the 100m. MISS CONDITION Lay inwards on straightening with the rider using the whip in his left hand. Rider advised that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action in the straight and lay inwards under pressure. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
