Stewards Comments

VERSTER Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bounded on jumping. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. MAJOR CANNY Raced wide throughout. ARACHNID Raced wide throughout. BROTHER PATRICK When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that the gelding had travelled comfortably but when asked for an effort on straightening failed to respond. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer was advised that the gelding would have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again and would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness before racing or trialling again. ZUBOYNE Commenced slowly. Held up in the early stages of the straight.
