Stewards Comments

RANTORINI Slipped behind on jumping. Steadied from heels near the 600m. Held tight near the 200m and again passing the 100m. When questioned, rider advised that after losing ground at the start he was obliged to ride the filly along in the early stages to make ground and that it became unbalanced in the early stages of the straight and had a tendency to shift ground and that he was unable to pull the whip when held tight near the 200m and again passing the 100m. MENDICITY Threw its head on jumping and was then buffeted. Raced keenly through the middle stages and passing the 600m threw its head when improving onto heels. Held up for clear running between the 400m and the 200m. ZIVA STAR Raced wide from the 450m and was carried wider on straightening.
