Stewards Comments

DEVILISH INTENT Rider reported that the gelding lay outwards after being crossed leaving the 1000m. RED MERCEDES Restrained from heels and was obliged to shift outwards and as a result got its head in the air near the 1100m. OUR LARRIKIN Got its head in the air when being steadied passing the 1000m. HI KILMORE was a late withdrawal when Trainer advised that the gelding was found to be lame in the near fore. Trainer was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again. COOLISM Trainer advised that due to the anticipated lack of speed in this race he would instruct that the gelding be ridden on the pace if possible and an oncourse announcement was made to this effect. Raced erratically getting its head in the air in the early and middle stages. Rider advised that the gelding raced fiercely in the early stages but then settled from near the 800m. Trainer advised that he would give consideration to racing the gelding over a lesser distance at its next start in an attempt to have it settle in running. NAMISUKI Lay inwards in the straight with the rider using the whip in his left hand from the 200m. JUST A NOBLE became fractious in the barriers, lashing out and after being removed and undergoing a Veterinary examination was found to be lame in the off hind and was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice. Trainer was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again. Returned with abrasions to both hocks. ELECTIONEER Raced wide throughout.
