Stewards Comments

AVONMORE TERRACE Bounded at the start. FUN SPICE Raced wide from the 800m and carried wider on straightening. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider explained that when racing in a rearward position she had been obliged to race wide from the 700m in an endeavour to improve her position in the race and when the field quickened rounding the home turn she had been carried wide on the track and as a result the gelding had failed to finish the race off as anticipated. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer agreed with these comments and if the gelding recovers well she intends to race it over an increased distance at its next race start. CHANIFY Held up for clear running from on straightening until the 200m. ACHEATIN' SMILE Impeded for clear running from on straightening until the 200m. ON THE BOIL Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. SNOWSHOES Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. WESTERN COUP Raced wide throughout. JEST ON TIME Slow into stride. BETTER THAN DARCY Blocked for clear running from the 350m until the 100m.
