Stewards Comments

RAGTRADER When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that he had commenced from an outside barrier being bumped at the start and thereafter was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event and from the 600m had ridden his mount forward in an attempt to improve his position and as such raced wide on straightening and this had taken its toll on the gelding and it had failed to finish the race off as anticipated. Rider further advised that in his opinion the gelding may appreciate racing over an increased distance. Trainer confirmed the comments of the rider and advised that he would give consideration to having it race over an increased distance at its next start. LETDEGOODTIMESROLL Returned having bled from both nostrils during running. Trainer was advised that the gelding would now suffer the disabilities of ARR.53A. LOVE A FLIRT underwent a Veterinary examination and was subsequently withdrawn by the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice. Trainer was advised that the gelding would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again. SIR KINTHER MAC Commenced awkwardly. MANAROMA Rider accidentally dropped her off side rein at the 100m which she regained shortly after. UNBENDABLE When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance as compared to its previous starts where it had finished last at Broome on 16 June 2012 and also last at Derby on 30 June 2012, Trainer advised in his opinion the gelding had benefited from the addition of blinkers today which had resulted in it racing in a more favourable manner. He further advised that he had made some gear changes on the gelding which included the inclusion of blinkers for today's run and a tongue- tie and had removed the tongue-bit and shadow roll and this coupled with the fact that he had changed the work program of the gelding may have accounted for the improved performance today. He further stated that he was surprised by the forward showing and had not backed the gelding nor encouraged the part owners to have a bet. His explanation was noted.
