Stewards Comments

FRENCHMAN Bumped and steadied near the 1450m. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider explained that although the gelding was obliged to race wide throughout it was disappointing in that it had not accelerated from on straightening as it had in its most recent starts which in his opinion was attributable to today's firmer track conditions. Trainer advised that the gelding would now have a let up. FORTESCUE FLYER Returned with an abrasion to its off hind bumper. JOBETH Crowded and buffeted shortly after the start. JUST WICKED Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 500m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider advised that the filly raced in a flat manner throughout and in his opinion had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer agreed with the rider's comments and advised that the filly would now be spelled. MAC IT IS Raced wide throughout. Steadied from heels when laying outwards on straightening.
