Stewards Comments

FRIARDAY Slow to begin. Crowded and steadied near the 500m. INCENTIVE SCHEME Raced wide from the 800m. LOST ME JEWELS Rider advised that the gelding was under pressure from the 800m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer was of the opinion that the gelding may have choked down in running and will now trial with a tongue-tie on. WILDWOOD Raced wide from the 600m. IZADEMON Held up for clear running from on straightening until the 250m. EXPRESS SERVICE Rider reported that the gelding changed stride and lay outwards passing the 1000m. Rider was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race. HONGKONG STAR Steadied from heels near the 900m. VINDANE Raced keenly passing the 1000m and was then allowed to stride forward where it then raced wide thereafter and consequently tired in the straight. When questioned, rider explained that she was instructed that if the pace was to ease through the middle stages she should allow her mount to improve in an attempt to make ground from towards the rear of the field. She explained that after taking her mount outwards from the three-wide position from the 1000m, the pace then increased and she was consequently obliged to race wide from thereon.
