Composition of Western Australian Equine Influenza Industry Group (WAEIIG)

Mr Dan Mossenson – (Chairperson of Group) Chairman of Partners at Lavan Legal, Chairs the Racing Penalties Appeals Tribunal and other Committees.

Mr Richard Burt – (Chief Executive Officer of RWWA) – representing the Thoroughbred and Harness Racing Industries and all other stakeholders of RWWA, including the Western Australian TAB.

Mr Robert Pearson – (RWWA Board Member) represents thoroughbred racing industry participants. Chairman of the Australian Racing Board and the RWWA Operations Committee.

Mr Ross Cooper – (RWWA Board Member) represents harness racing industry participants. Member of the Harness Racing Council of Australia.

Mr Rob Delane – (Deputy Director General Bio-security & Research of the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA)) Responsible for all Bio-security issues at DAFWA, participates in the National Management Group, under agreed sectors.

Dr Ashley Mercy – (Director of Animal Bio-security of the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) responsible for all Animal Bio-security issues at DAFWA, including the Equine Influenza response.

Diane Bennit – Chair of the Horse Council of WA, Director of the Australian Horse Industry Council and member of numerous committees relating to the horse industry.

Dr Warwick Vale – Private Veterinarian Practitioner, representing the Equestrian Federation of Australia in his capacity as executive member. Member of Equine Veterinarians of Australia, advisor to the Callinan inquiry and participates in other Committees relating to the Equine Industry, and Equine Health issues.

Mr Jon Nichols – (Ministerial Advisor to Minister for Racing & Gaming) observer on the group, to represent the Minister for Racing & Gaming.

Dr Judith Medd – Observer to the Committee in her position as RWWA Racing Industry Veterinarian.
