RAGLAN – SEW EURODRIVE PACING CUP
RWWA Stewards were informed yesterday by HRNSW Stewards that acting under the provisions of Australian Harness Racing Rule 183 (a), RAGLAN NZ has been stood down until further notice.
Rule 183 (a), which is a national rule of harness racing, prescribes that:
183. Action pending outcome
Pending the outcome of an inquiry, investigation or objection, or where a person has been charged with an offence, the stewards may direct one or more of the following -
(a) that a horse shall not be nominated for or compete in a race;
HRNSW has today advised that in trying to find a solution that is beneficial to all parties, they will agree to lift the bar under the following conditions:
1. RAGLAN NZ is tested for the presence of Arsenic before the WA Pacing Cup and it must return a result under the allowable threshold.
2. Mr Tim Butt agrees to a suitable time for the commencement of the positive swab inquiry sometime next week which he must attend.
Representative for RAGLAN NZ, Mr Anthony Butt has been contacted by RWWA Stewards and arrangements have been made for a sample to be taken in order provide an opportunity to comply with the first condition. The ChemCentre in Perth have advised that a result will be available before 8.30am tomorrow.
Upon the outcome of analysis of the sample, RWWA will confirm with HRNSW tomorrow prior to 8.30am its position and unless the bar is lifted pursuant to the relevant rule, RAGLAN NZ will be withdrawn from the SEW EURODRIVE PACING CUP which is to be conducted at Gloucester Park on Friday 13 January 2012.
