Important Notice to all Thoroughbred Racehorse trainers and owners
Murdoch University, with assistance from Perth Racing and Racing and Wagering WA, is running research projects related to two important respiratory diseases affecting racehorses in 2012/ 2013, and would like to invite you to consider participating.
The research projects are looking at;
- Lung bleeding; and
- Inflammatory Airway Disease
These two conditions are very common causes of poor performance in racehorses.
- Diagnosing and treating these diseases can dramatically improve performance.
What the studies will involve:
- FREE post race scopes on course at Belmont or Ascot
- FREE pulmonary function testing at Murdoch University Equine Centre when a lung wash is performed.
Want to find out more about both of these conditions, and how to enroll your horse in the studies? Then come along to a trainer's forum with speakers from Murdoch University.
When - Tuesday 24th April, 2012.
Time - 10 am.
Location - The Committee room, member's floor level, Ascot Racecourse.
To RSVP for the trainer's forum, or register an expression of interest in participating in the studies, please call Murdoch Equine Centre on 9360 7676 or email equine@murdoch.edu.au
REMEMBER:
- There is no cost to you or the owners for participating in this study.
- Information gained will benefit your racing industry, and can improve your horses' performance.
- All information is treated as strictly confidential, and no names or other details that may identify you or your horse will be disclosed to any third party.
