Chris Gangemi has one entrant engaged for Belmont Park on Wednesday and he will have to wait until the last but his patience could be rewarded if Iseethingsyoudon't can reproduce his smart Pinjarra maiden win.
Ridden by Shaun McGruddy Iseethingsyoudon't settled perfectly in the one-out one-back position, turned four wide when cornering before grabbing the lead inside the final 50m and drawing away on the line for a comfortable first-up win.
Gangemi said Iseethingsyoudon't had thrived since the win and expected the Star Cross gelding to be the horse to beat in the HPM Le Grand Handicap (1300m).
"The win was better than it looked because the horse on the outside of the leader ran off the turn which cost my horse a length or two," Gangemi said.
"He won nicely and shooter (McGruddy) seems to think he has come on since and will be hard to beat.
"He is one of the best horses I have got in the stable.
"He has improved in the last couple of months and gets better as each week goes.
"From an ideal draw in barrier two he will be in the first couple or box seating and with luck in running he will be hard to beat."
