25 July 2012 Bobby Teal Ends Maiden Drought

Patient supporters of Bobby Teal were able to cash in when the Jarrad Humphries-trained gelding broke a long drought to win the Gwen and Poppsy Conditioned Pace (2560m) at Northam.

Boob Teal, driven by Tim Earnshaw, led from the outside and skipped clear in the run home to win by three lengths from Jennas Speedster.

The Perfect Print trailed behind for third.

Punters stuck solid with Bobby Teal, placed at his previous nine outings, and sent the four-year-old out as the $2 favourite.

Kade Howson's Schinzig Buller, returning after a two year absence, faded to finish tenth of 12 behind Lombo Air Express in the Shirley Hitchcock Pace (2190m).

Schinzig Buller, who hadn't raced since the 2010 WA Pacing Cup, was four wide at the top of the corner but faded over the final stages.

Howson scored earlier when he steered home outsider Hear No Secret for trainer Jessie Moore in Catherine Antonio Fillies and Mares Pace (2190m).

Moore quinellaed the race with stable mate Incendio running second.

Driving honours went to Gary Hall Jr who opened the meeting with a win on The Marble Ridge and Tyler Diamond in the Lee and Roz Perker Pace (2190m).
